Lazy Sunday...or so I thought.

Today is a very lazy day. For Charlie that is. I'm busy tending to the neglected laundry that I folded last week but never put away. I also am trying to tidy up the living room, while Charlie crawls behind me and pulls out all of the toys I'm putting away.

Right now I have a little break while he naps.

Being a mom, or a single parent, in general, you are NEVER able to sit down and fully relax. There is always something that needs to be cleaned, paid, or put away.

So now I need to go pull the laundry out of the dryer, and finish cleaning the dishes in the kitchen. Hopefully the babe stays asleep long enough for me to finish.

More later.

Get to know your blogger

I am a young, single mother. I am separated from my husband, and he lives a few states away at the moment. I work full-time as an adult mentor at a rehabilitation center for folks with disabilities. I work my butt off, daily, to be a good mother, and a good employee for my clients. I am super crafty. I absolutely love to make things. My Pinterest boards are varied and many. A few of my craft hobbies are; scrapbooking, card making, and soap making. I am learning to can, and recently made Pepper Jelly, a recipe from Ball (the jars). Feel free to follow my Pinterest boards, just be sure to watch out for my random posting. I usually get on once or twice a month and pin a million things, and usually end up making a few new boards in the process.

Right now, my life is a work in progress. I'm currently trying to get a better paying job, and I have yet to be successful. I'm looking for a career position. If someone offered to let me sit at home all day and craft, I'd definitely take them up on that offer. LOL!

My son is a few months away from turning 1! I cannot believe how fast time flies with a little one. He is the sweetest thing you could lay eyes on. I'm very proud of how smart and sweet he is. Charlie has a very mellow temperament, not so much recently, though. He just learned how to scream at the top of his lungs, and just for kicks, he does it at random times throughout the day, just to hear himself.

Initial post!

First off, please bear with me as I explore this blogging business.

Hello, my name is Morgan, I am a single mother. My son is a crazy, drooling ball of sunlight. He is wonderful, and is currently learning how to stand up without support. His name is Charles, but for the most part I refer to him as 'Charlie'.

My goal of starting this blog, is to shed light on the fact that there are young mothers who take full responsibility of their situation, and are able to raise their child to be a productive member of society, and to grow to be that themselves. I also want to be a light at the end of the tunnel for some young mothers out there who don't see that things will get better. When you learn that you are going to be a mother, that is hard for every woman, but as a young woman who thought she had her whole life in front of her, this type of responsibility can be crushing. I want to open up to you, so you know that your situation can get better if you take charge, and do everything in your power to change your life.

Hopefully I will be able to reach some young ladies, or even young men who are parents or are becoming parents, and need someone to look to in the hard times that parenthood inevitably brings.
